MOTHER’S DAY THINGY

So it’s that time of the year again when we remind ourselves that without HER our existence is pretty much NIL. I know and absolutely believe that we should commend our unsung heroes everyday and every minute of our life for doing such an incredible job, so  I wanna say..THANK YOU MOTHERSONG! YOU ROCK!

I’d say one can never truly understand their Mom’s until they become parents themselves and I can  truly attest to that because I am one myself. So cheers to the Mom’s out there who wakes up everyday and get on with the duty of unconditional LOVE.

Ever since my rascals started school , about 6 years ago more or less (excuse my demented aging brain lol) I have never had a boring Mother’s day.Thank you to their schools fundraising ideas that made me buy MYSELF my Mother’s day pressie (LOL sorry but really man it’s true they come home with a note about needing  $5 to buy Mom something really nice from the Mother’s day stall at school…sweet!)..have to say It’s hilarious but has some sort of SWEETNESS about it..don’t get me wrong I totally adore all those mugs and cup holders and what not.. but I gotta be honest,the gesture does make me feel really special ..extra special even just for that one day. So kids thank you so much!

This year though I wanted something different, not that I got bored of the stuff from the “stall” or that I am in scarce of that $5 - blame it on the  Global Economic crisis (SAY WHAAAT?LOL!).. but I just wanted something unique and memorable.. Seth wasn’t very pleased about this. He went on about how good were the stuff from the stall and that all his friends got something for their Mom’s.. CUTE RIGHT?

Thank you my loves ! but I got the best GIFT already YOU  & ATE … my lil dude just gave me the sweetest smile that I so adore after hearing me say that … priceless moments.

Tasha has more of a mature kinda deadma approach to my request hahahahahhaha She’s definitely her Dad’s twin LOL!

Anyhow, what I really want for Mother’s day aside from a BUBBLE CUP drink  DURIAN flavour (it has to have that sago in the bottom LOL) fr that Vietnamese shop and a straight from the pan BANANA Q saturated and covered with heaps of sugar from Kabayan restaurant…

is a  simple personally handwritten LETTER from my 2 rascals. That’s all ..  that is pretty much what I want … just a letter!

Besides, I got them already, my most precious most beautiful gifts ..

I don’t want anything from the ‘Stall’ .. hehehe

GOD is GOOD

On that note, I wanna make a  Mother’s day wish more like a prayer actually

That GOD may keep my precious gifts safe and tucked nicely in HIS hands

and guide them to the right path 

and plant humility and faith in their hearts.

TASHA’S 10th

This is kinda late actually but I’ve always wanted to make a blog about my daughter’s 10th birthday so that in the very inevitable future I can simply log-in and shall be taken back to that very day (well I hope so..)..So let’s get rockin’ shall we?

So as you can see by the picture above ,It was a Harry Potter Theme party.Tasha chose this theme for the very obvious reason that she is an HP fan, she has read all the books and repeatedly doing so until now.Initially I was disappointed because of the lack of HP party products locally,it is vastly available online though( which I learned later on..) but due to my busy life add to that the laziness to surf the net to look for the best,I resigned myself to just going basic and just have a simple party for her without no theme whatsoever.But the Mommy in me was pretty unhappy and so a day before Tasha’s big day I finally got onto the internet and checked out some HP party ideas..to my surprise there was heaps and heaps of it but the best one was this site who blogged about their HP theme party and it was pretty cool! and that pretty much inspired me to go for gold..I mean go for it and have a go ..at the end of the day,successful or not at least I did everything I can possibly do to make my Tasha’s day extra special. 

To start with the theme,I printed out this sign and asked Tash to post it where she wanted it and happily enough she posted it here,where her friends can straight away see and will add bit more excitement to them..(it did worked!)

we also decorated the walls with this poster of SIRIUS BLACK where we purchased on our visit to the HARRY POTTER EXHIBIT in Sydney, and added some more HP printouts to make it more rock and roll.Tash again chose where to put them..Her birthday invites was actually made in the Philippines by INKPRESSIVE which was a gift from her beloved Auntie Diyang (she’s the best Aunt ever..I wish I have an Aunt like her ..wait she’s actually my sister LOL!)..moving on..

To keep the kids amazed I took on these idea from the same blog site to prepare a feast fit for a Gryffindor Wizard..and this is what I came up with..I reckoned it’s pretty AWESOME don’t ya think? The kids face lit up when they saw this particularly asking if it was indeed an frog..It was great! and I presented it like a true Hogwartian style..PERFECT!

Because it’s a birthday milestone for my daughter ( its her 10th which means she wont be celebrating any single digits anymore..) I decided to bake her birthday cake..she actually requested for me to do so. Because of her intolerant to eggs, it makes sense that I should just bake it myself as I am more familiar with baking egg free cakes for her( of course I am..wishful thinking nyahahaha!)..so I did! here’s the pic ..I am soo proud of this one!

I also got the idea from the very informative and helpful world of cyberspace..THANK YOU!

Of course with all this lovely yummy cakes kids need to have some sort of beverage right?but in my Hogwarts I prepared a specially concocted fortune potion juice..I tell you the kids were soo interested and was quite amazed that I ran out of my concoction..LOL! It works like this..I pour them their  clear drinks and it turns into a specific color and that color has a fortune to tell..i.e GREEN = WEALTH ..everyone wants the green cup LOL! I was soo pleased! It was crazy!

add to that I also prepared an ELIXIR of LIFE but the kids didn’t show much interest probably because one,there wasn’t anything in it ( I was gonna just say that it is invisible..LOL) secondly,maybe the word elixir is unknown to them..hehehe.

A kids party ain’t complete without party favors, It was supposed to be a wand with a thank you on it but sadly I couldn’t get them… I needed more time to get some from cyberspace LOL! So I decided that because Tash loves books  and I wanted to make it bit unique and something Tash and her friends would always remember, I prepared  teddy bears and dictionaries for her friends as a thank you for making her day extra special. I was kinda reluctant at first about this but to my surprise the kids loved it! I also gave them cupcakes ( the HP scar cupcake) and the birthday cakes to take home..

Tash opted for the jumping castle instead of a Magician..she is definitely not a baby anymore :(..kids had so much fun on it I think super duper too much! Everyone was sweaty and breathless running around .. some were playing footy,Tash goofing around with her friend Blake who  came with a Dementor costume which was EPIC!.. some were shy and just followed Tasha everywhere..hehehe soo cute!

Aside from one injured friend my daughter’s 10th  went perfectly as she wanted it to be..I would have loved to invite all our lovely friends but it is her birthday and it is her wishes to have just her friends and get wasted..I mean have fun! hehehehe…

I was so pleased and ecstatic for my Tash..I see genuine bliss on her smiles and that is enough for me..

I beg GOD to please guide my little girl as always, and that she will grow up to be the best that she can be ..
